About Calk-USA
Konstantin Iakovlev
Founder & Developer
Software developer with over 10 years of experience building financial data systems. I've been creating calculator tools since 2015 — starting with tax calculators, then expanding into paycheck, mortgage, retirement, and dozens of other financial categories.
Why I built this
Most financial calculators I found online were either outdated, buried behind signup walls, loaded with ads that made them unusable, or just plain wrong. During tax season I'd manually verify IRS tables because I couldn't trust the tools out there.
So I built the calculator I wanted to use — one that's free, private, accurate, and based on official government data. That first project grew into a platform serving multiple countries, each carefully adapted to local tax codes and financial systems. Calk-USA is the largest and most comprehensive of them, with over 700 calculators covering federal and all 50 state regulations.
Track record
I've built and maintain calculator platforms for multiple countries, each tailored to their specific tax codes, benefit systems, and financial regulations. This isn't a copy-paste operation — every site is purpose-built for its market.
Kazakhstan
First site, launched 2015. Tax and salary calculators for the Kazakh market.
New Zealand
104 calculators. IRD tax rates, KiwiSaver, ACC levies, NZ-specific tools.
Australia
91 calculators. ATO rates, superannuation, Medicare levy, state stamp duty.
United Kingdom
330+ calculators. HMRC rates, National Insurance, council tax, pensions.
Calk-USA is the most ambitious project yet — 700+ calculators, all 50 US states with unique content, and data sourced from the IRS, SSA, DOL, and every state revenue department.
How this site works
- 1 Your data stays in your browser. All calculations run in JavaScript on your device. Nothing is sent to any server. When you close the page, your data is gone.
- 2 Official data only. Tax brackets, rates, and limits come from the IRS, SSA, Department of Labor, and state revenue departments. Every calculator page cites its sources.
- 3 Always free, no signup. Every calculator is free. No paywalls, no premium tiers, no account required. The site is supported by non-intrusive advertising.
- 4 Transparent formulas. Each calculator shows a step-by-step breakdown of how your result was calculated. See the Methodology page for details.
- 5 Kept current. Rates are updated annually when the IRS publishes new adjustments, and within 48 hours for urgent mid-year legislative changes.
